Google tools are used extensively across Shakopee Schools. Google's suite of tools is referred to as G Suite for Education. This suite includes Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drawings, and more. All of these tools are cloud-based, meaning the data is stored on the Internet, and can be used in an iPad, MacBook, Windows PC, or smartphone. In addition to being accessible on any devices, these tools are collaborative. Students and staff can edit the same document at the same and all changes are saved automatically.
All students have accounts with G Suite which includes their district ID number and ends with @shakopeeschools.org (ex: firstname.lastname@example.org). All staff have accounts that includes their district username and ends with @shakopeeschools.org (ex. email@example.com). Students grades K-5 will not receive any email from external sources, only from within our domain and shakopee.k12.mn.us domain (used by teachers).
