What is Clips?
Clips is a video editing tool that allows you to film live in the app and combine photos and videos from your camera roll. The app has built-in animated posters, stickers, labels, and builds in smooth transitions from one photo to the next so that your final video looks more professional. You can also apply artistic filters to your photos or videos. Another great educational feature of Clips is LIVE titles, which allows the words you speak to be added as written text to the video.
Why is this a great tool?
Clips can be used for polished, professional looking videos for students to share their learning at the end of a unit. Additionally, it is a great tool for students to use while in the process of learning. Students can use the voice recording feature to explain their thinking while using the on-screen sticker and zoom features to defend their thinking with specific text evidence.
How do I use it?
Download Clips from Self Service. Then open the app.
If you would like to add a title to your video, click on POSTERS.
You can customize the text on most of the posters with the exception of Star Wars, Disney, and Pixar posters.
Use the red recording button to add the poster and an audio recording to your video.
Now that you have a title, you need to decide if you are going to record live in the app or if you are going to use photos and videos from your camera roll.
